Hello everyone again,
As you know, I deal with community service and similar issues in "Civic Involvement Series". I voiced my thoughts without any dilemma on any of the issues to date, because it was quite clear what was done why, how and for what purpose. However, today the situation is a little different. So before I start writing, I want to ask you: Have you ever done something you wouldn't normally do to look good to someone or someone?
The topic I'm going to cover today is social responsibility and corporate social responsibility. Social responsibility actually means acting for the benefit of society. Based on this definition, we can say that corporate social responsibility is also that companies act for the benefit of society and design projects. We can give many examples of corporate social responsibility projects such as the "Clean Toilet" project for Opet toilet cleaning, Renault's "First Steps on the Street" project, and the "Farmers Club" project organized by Vodafone. Let's examine these projects in more detail. Will you also notice what I noticed?

Our first project is the Clean Toilet Project started by Opet to pay attention to toilet cleaning and personal hygiene. Within the scope of the project, it is mentioned that people need to enter clean toilets while they are outdoors and the harmful effects of germs transmitted from dirty toilets. If we look at the purpose of the project, it is very useful. But we all know that on long trips, you usually take a break in the benzyls and get gasoline from that petrol station. Isn't it very meaningful that Opet chose such a project as a service to the community?

Our second project is Renault's First Steps on the Street. This project is a project developed to prevent traffic accidents. Within the scope of this project, more than 1,200,000 students were provided with road safety training. Through this training, students around the Turkey-children began to feel sympathy Renault. It is known by car companies that children have a great influence on car purchases, and that's why most car companies use children in their advertisements. The biggest example of this is the line "My father is like Toyota" in the TOYOTA advertisement. For this reason, I think it is impossible not to think that Renault organizing a traffic safety camp over children is an advertising project as well as a social service dimension.

Our last example is from Vodafone, the phone line. Vodafone Farmers Club Project sends the weather forecast to 700,000 farmers and shepherds. In this way, they say, they aim to prevent flooding of their crops or animals. How many animals succumbing seat in Turkey? or on days of heavy rain, how can farmers protect their acres of land? In fact, they show here that the Vodafone line also draws in the mountains and villages. In short, this project is an advertising project as much as a social responsibility project.
I guess you noticed the same things as me. I believe that some corporate social responsibility projects carried out by companies are also advertising projects. Do you think the companies would still be carrying out these projects if community service projects did not have the effect of looking good on society or advertising? I think no. In fact, we can call this bilateral creativity. Thanks to these projects, the society is really served and at the same time, the companies raise and strengthen their place in the eyes of the society by advertising.
See you in next blog
